About Us

Once upon a time on a sunny day in August '04 the decision was taken by a group of Enniskillen's finest to head to Cardiff and support Our Wee Country. With the flights and accommodation finally booked we were all set for a wee bounce to Cardiff.

The day finally came and a rough and ready band of like-minded individuals set off for the border, our destination: Dublin airport. There was hardly enough time for an on-flight swally and before we knew it we had landed in Bristol airport. All that was left was a quick journey onwards via train to England’s second largest city - Cardiff!!! 

Once unpacked in our temporary headquarters, a pattern began to develop: Each of the 8 suitcases contained several bottles of premium monk’s champagne also known as Buckfast tonic wine. It soon became apparent that we all had brought a few sneaky bottles with us (just in case the taffs didn’t have any!)

So, to cut a long story short, a great time was had by all on this trip, all thanks to our favorite potion. So a collective decision was taken that when possible, we would all travel to future Norn Iron away games each with our own supply of Bucky. And so the Buckfast Loyal was formed.
